Reconstruction Before & After Case 68

This patient presented with biopsy-proven basal cell carcinoma of the outer aspect of the left lower eyelid. Dr. Phan recommended resection and immediate reconstruction on the same day. One-half of the eyelid was excised in full-thickness fashion to completely remove the skin cancer. Full thickness skin graft and tarsoconjunctival flap from the upper eyelids were used to reconstruct the outer half of the left lower eyelid.

Patient, pictured here 18-months post left lower lid basal cell carcinoma resection and reconstruction, demonstrates excellent result of the reconstructed eyelid, with preserved height and contour. Patient appeared natural and balanced.
