Reconstruction Before & After Case 59

This patient presented with a small biopsy-proven basal cell carcinoma at the center of the left lower eyelid. Dr. Phan recommend resection followed by reconstruction on the same day. One-fourth of the eyelid was excised in full-thickness fashion to completely remove the skin cancer. The eyelid margin and lash line were meticulously reapproximated with internal and external sutures to preserve the height, contour and function of the eyelid.

Patient, pictured here 1-month after left lower eyelid basal cell carcinoma resection and reconstruction, demonstrated excellent restoration of the eyelid. Patient still appeared natural and herself.
