Case Details
This patient in her 60s presented with concern for the sleepy, asymmetric eyes and recalled having much bigger eyes in the past.
On evaluation, Dr. Phan noted left worse than right lid ptosis and recommended bilateral internal ptosis repair. Incisions were made on the back side of the eyelids to shorten and tighten the Mueller muscles, allowing the muscles to lift the eyelids more effectively. Once the left eyelid elevated, the eyebrow did not need to compensate and relaxed; the eyebrows and skin folds became more balanced again.
Patient, pictured here 1-month post bilateral internal ptosis repair, demonstrated naturally enlarged, symmetrical eyes. Patient appeared more like her harmonious self again and not overdone.
