Case Details
This patient in her 60s presented with concern that her left eye was smaller than the right. Her specific aesthetic goals included making the left eye bigger to achieve a balanced look.
During evaluation, Dr. Phan noted left upper eyelid ptosis and excess skin of each upper eyelid. She recommended left upper eyelid ptosis repair combined with bilateral upper blepharoplasty. The former involved incisions made in the eyelid crease to access the muscles and tighten it, allowing the muscle to lift the eyelid more effectively. Skin was removed from the eyelids to limit the expected exacerbation of heavy skin folds once the eyelids successfully elevated higher.
Patient, pictured here 1-week post left upper eyelid ptosis repair and bilateral upper blepharoplasty, demonstrated a more balanced appearance, in keeping with her pre-surgery goals.
