Before & After
Case Details
This patient in her 60s presented with concerns that her eyes had been getting smaller over time. She recalled once having larger, more open eyes and wanted to look like herself again after surgery, without appearing overdone.
On evaluation, Dr. Phan noted that the eyelid margins were resting near the center of the pupils, a finding consistent with lid ptosis. To address this, Dr. Phan recommended bilateral internal ptosis repair, also known as conjunctivo-Müller muscle resection (CMMR). Through incisions made on the inner surface of the eyelids, the muscles were shortened and tightened to help the eyelids lift more effectively.
Patient, pictured 3-months post bilateral internal ptosis repair, demonstrated restoration of her natural eye openings. She appeared more engaging, balanced, and refreshed, while preserving the look that still felt authentically her own.
