Case Details
This patient in her 50s presented with concerns that she her eyes were getting smaller and making her appear tired. She looked older than she felt.
On evaluation, Dr. Phan noted upper eyelid margins resting near the center of the pupils, a finding of lid ptosis. This occurred when the muscles responsible for lifting the eyelids thinned, stretched and weakened over time. To address this, Dr. Phan recommended bilateral internal ptosis repair. Incisions were made on the back side of the eyelids, and Muller muscles were shortened and tightened, allowing the muscles to lift the eyelids more effectively.
Patient, pictured here 3-months post bilateral internal ptosis repair, demonstrated balanced restoration of the eye openings. Patient appeared brighter, engaging and herself again.
