Reconstruction Before & After Case 55

This patient presented with a biopsy-proven basal cell carcinoma at the center of the left lower eyelid. Dr. Phan recommended excision followed by immediate reconstruction on the same day. One-quarter of the eyelid was excised in a full-thickness wedge fashion to ensure complete removal of the skin cancer. The eyelid margin and lash line were meticulously reapproximated with internal and external sutures to preserve the natural height, contour, and function of the eyelid.

Patient, pictured here 3 months after left lower eyelid basal cell carcinoma excision and reconstruction, demonstrated natural restoration of the eyelid. She appeared balanced and entirely herself.
