Reconstruction Before & After Case 106

This patient presented with biopsy-proven basal cell carcinoma of the inner half of the right lower eyelid. Dr. Phan recommended resection and immediate reconstruction on the same day. One-half of the eyelid was excised in full-thickness fashion to completely remove the skin cancer. Muscle-skin flap from the lateral canthus and temple were used to lengthen the eyelid and allow for the eyelid margin and lash line to reapproximate with internal and external sutures. 

Patient, picture here 2-months post right lower lid basal cell carcinoma resection and reconstruction, demonstrated restoration of the eyelid, with preservation of the height, contour and function.
