Case Details
This patient in her 50s presented with long-standing concern of her uneven and drooping eyebrows. They made her look eyelids look and feel heavy. She planned for eventual brow lift. For the time being, she wanted some improvement, with undergoing surgery.
On evaluation, Dr. Phan noted mild drooping of the brows on both sides. The right side appeared worse, also accentuated by the thicker brow fat here. In addition to brow ptosis, Dr. Phan also noted comparable excess skin of both upper eyelids. Until surgical brow lift and blepharoplasty to elevate the eyebrows and remove excess, respectively, Dr. Phan recommended temporarily lifting the eyebrows with PDO threads. (These Korean threads have barbs or coils on the surface to engage the and lift the skin. They are also stimulate collagen.)
Patient, pictured here on the same day of bilateral PDO thread brow lift, demonstrated more symmetry of the eyebrows and eyelid folds.
PDO threads are great options for individuals who require no anesthesia or down time and desire time-limited, subtle improvement.
