Wedding days are incredibly special, not only for brides, but also for mothers of the brides. Much of our discussion regarding skincare and preparation within the month leading up to the wedding for bride applies to mothers as well (see blog, 1-Month Countdown for Brides.)
For those seeking more rejuvenation beyond skincare and injectables—and who have at least 2 to 3 months before the wedding—we have additional options to consider.
1–2 Months Before the Wedding
➢ Chemical Peels
Chemical peels exfoliate and remove superficial layers of the skin to improve:
- uneven skin tone
- dullness
- fine lines
- hyperpigmentation such as melasma
Some peels may be applied more aggressively for deeper exfoliation and enhanced brightening. While pigmentation can often be significantly lightened, maintenance is usually necessary, as pigmentation may recur over time.
To optimize and maintain results, we often recommend a customized LaFace Essentials brightening regimen, which may include:
- Glyco 10%
- KLC Brightening Cream
(compounded arbutin/kojic acid/lactic acid/vitamin C/tranexamic acid/niacinamide)
- Ret 5 or Ret 10 Serum or Cream
- Broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen
- ALP Intense Brightening Pads
The exact regimen should always be tailored to the patient’s skin type, pigmentation pattern, and sensitivity.
➢ PDO Threads
Injectables and chemical peels can soften lines, restore volume, and improve skin tone and quality, but they do not lift tissue.
For patients seeking lifting without surgery, PDO threads are an option. These dissolvable surgical threads contain small barbs designed to engage and reposition the skin for subtle lifting effect.
PDO threads are often considered a form of “non-surgical facelift.” The advantages include:
- mild lifting and contouring
- minimal downtime compared with surgery
- no general anesthesia
- gradual collagen stimulation
Results are naturally more limited and temporary compared with surgical facelift procedures. They can be an excellent option for:
- those who would never consider surgery
- patients who are not ready for surgery
- patients seeking a bridge before eventual facelift surgery
~ 3 Months Before
➢ CO₂ Laser Resurfacing
For deeper static wrinkles, crepey texture, and mild-to-moderate skin laxity, CO₂ laser resurfacing remains one of the most effective rejuvenation treatments available.
In lighter skin types that burn more easily, a more aggressive treatment may be performed, though recovery may involve:
- 4–6 weeks of visible healing
- residual redness that can last few months
In patients with skin types that tan more easily or carry higher risks of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, we favor:
- gentler settings
- staged treatments
- 2–3 sessions spaced approximately one month apart
CO₂ laser resurfacing can produce meaningful improvement in:
- wrinkles
- texture
- pigmentation
- laxity
making it one of the most effective non-surgical rejuvenation procedures available.
➢ RF Microneedling
For patients who are not ideal candidates for laser resurfacing—or who have milder wrinkles and laxity—RF microneedling is another excellent option.
Morpheus8 is one example of RF microneedling technology that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to:
- stimulate collagen
- improve texture
- tighten mild skin laxity
One of the major advantages of RF microneedling is the relatively limited downtime, which is often:
- less than one week
- sometimes only a few days
depending on treatment intensity and individual healing response.
Certainly, all or several of the above treatments may be combined if time permits. However, rejuvenation does not need to be “all or nothing.” The ideal treatment plan should always be customized based on:
- aesthetic goals
- tolerance for procedures and downtime
- recovery timeline
- long-term maintenance preferences
- skin type and safety considerations
The goal is not simply to look different for the wedding day—but to look refreshed, confident, elegant, and naturally rejuvenated in person and in photographs.
