Case Details
This patient in her 30s presented with long-standing left upper eyelid droopiness, resulting in noticeable asymmetry between the eyes.
On evaluation, Dr. Phan noted the left upper eyelid margin resting below the center of the pupil, consistent with severe lid ptosis. To correct this, Dr. Phan recommended left internal ptosis repair. Through an incision made on the backside of the eyelid, Müller’s muscle was shortened and tightened to help the eyelid lift more effectively. Once the eyelid was repositioned, the brow no longer needed to compensate and relaxed to its natural position.
Patient, pictured here 1 week after left internal ptosis repair, demonstrated natural restoration of the left eye opening and more balanced and harmonious upper face. Mild residual bruising and swelling, expected at this stage, would continue to improve over the following week.
