Before & After
Case Details
This patient in her 40s presented with long-standing sagging skin folds, touching her eyelashes.
During evaluation, Dr. Phan noted the main cause to the sagging skin folds were due to the drooping of the eyebrows, also known as brow ptosis. As the brows drooped, they pushed down into the skin folds and caused them to sag. In addition, the naturally thick skin under the brows accentuated the fullness.
In scenario like this, the approach would be directed at the main culprit via brow lift. Some patients may not be prepared for the more involved surgery of brow lift, in which case blepharoplasty may be considered, as in this case.
Patient, pictured here 1-month post bilateral blepharoplasty, demonstrated more tarsal plate show (the space between the eyelid crease and eye lash line) after skin removal.
