Case Details
This patient in her 40s presented after having bilateral Asian blepharoplasty elsewhere with the concerns that the eyelid creases failed to form uniformly and the double eyelids appeared unbalanced.
During evaluation, Dr. Phan noted hypertrophic scars and ill-formed eyelid crease on both sides. (Hypertrophy is one of the most common adverse events of Asian blepharoplasty. It, in turn, can interfere with the crease adhering to the deeper structures in the eyelid and thus the formation of appropriate depth and prominence.) Dr. Phan recommended excising the scars and repeating Asian blepharoplasty.
Patient pictured here 1-month post bilateral Asian blepharoplasty revision. The creases were well-formed and symmetrical.
