Case Details
This patient in her 50s presented bothered by the lines in her forehead.
On evaluation, Dr. Phan noted dynamic forehead rhytids, caused by contraction of the frontalis muscle, which repeatedly pulled on the skin and created wrinkles over time. To soften these lines, Dr. Phan recommended neuromodulator injections to the frontalis muscle, temporarily relaxing its activity. Seven small injections were placed across the forehead.
Neuromodulators typically begin to take effect within 4 to 7 days and reach their full effect by 7 to 14 days, depending on the brand used. Results generally last about 3 to 4 months, and repeat treatment should be continu to maintain the effect.
Patient, pictured here after neuromodulator injections to the forehead, demonstrated noticeably smoother forehead with little to no residual dynamic lines.
